Itinerary (5 Nights & 6 Days)

Meghalaya, where landscape reigns, reminds images of blue skies, earth touching clouds, magical rain, salubrious weather, rolling hills, cascading waterfalls, breath taking natural beauty, rock music, warm and welcoming people etc. The outside world knows our state for Cheerapunjee, the rainiest place on the planet, for Shillong, the cosmopolitan capital of the state and more recently for Mawlynnong, the cleanest village. Meghalaya is certainly all of these and much more!

Detail Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival (Guwahati Airport) & Transfer to a Guest House. Get Fresh & Relax with a welcome refreshing Assam Tea on arrival after check In. Evening Free and drive to the famous River Cruise for a complementary dinner with a cultural folk dance and enjoy a splendid musical night. Overnight at Idyll a family run Guest House for peaceful sleep.

Day 2

Enjoy a breakfast and set to drive for Shillong (A Capital of Meghalaya) on the way take a breath taking break Umiam Lake located in the hills North of Shillong. It was created by damming the Umiam River in the early 1960s. The principal catchment area of the lake and dam is spread over 220 square km.

After a short picturesque break drive and check in at Tripura Castle a Colonial style Heritage Hotel in Shillong outskirts offering guests a heritage living experience.

Interested Sightseeing: Wards Lake and Botanical Garden, Shillong Peak, Butterfly Museum, Elephant Falls.

Day 3

Today start early after breakfast drive (90 KM) to Mawlynnong Village in East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya in the East Khasi Hills in Meghalaya, also referred to as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003.

Sightseeing: Sky Walk a 80 feet high “machan’ or observatory, Living Root Bridge and Natural Balancing Rock.

Drive back to Shillong. Overnight at Tripura Castle.

Day 4

A day to explore the wettest place on earth so pack your bags finish your breakfast and drive (60 KM) to Cheerapunjee or Sohra (A historical name). Cherrapunjee, which means ‘the land of oranges’, is at an elevation of 4290 ft. One can see the plains of Bangladesh from the cliffs of Cherrapunji. Cherrapunji held the record for the wettest place on earth. However, Mawsynram, also in Meghalaya, holds the distinction of being the wettest place. Cherrapunji receives a staggering 11,777 mm of rainfall annually.

Sightseeing: Mawkdok Dympep Valley,Nohkalikai Falls, Dain-Thelan Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Eco Park, Seven Sister Falls, Double Decker Living Route Bridge.

Overnight at Cheerapunjee Holiday Resort (Peacefully Spend a night)

Day 5

Today after breakfast drive out to Guwahati enjoy your drive as you are going to leave this heavenly place on earth. Check in at Guest House and post lunch if time permit drive to Nilachal Hill and visit the famous Kamakhya Temple.

End your tour with shopping with your interest. Tealeaf/Memento/The famous Silk of Assam

Spend your last night in Guwahati (Idyll Service Apartment)

Day 6
