
The Ziro Music Festival, all you need to know!
Starting from the 22nd of this month, the Ziro Music Festival is a four day funfair of eating, drinking and merrymaking. Located in a lofty height of 1550 mt. above the sea level, Ziro will be host to 30 wonderful artists and over a dozen individual artists for four days. This is the fourth edition of India’s greatest outdoor Music festival after NH7 Weekender, Sunburn Festival and the Hornbill Festival.

What?
The Ziro Music Festival is held every year in the month of September in Ziro, one of the oldest in Arunachal Pradesh. Located in a lofty height of 1550 mt., Ziro gives all the music lovers the perfect boost of food and fun. It is currently one of the biggest outdoor music festivals of India, in the likes of NH7 Weekender and the Sunburn Festival, Goa. Ziro Music Festival sees the culmination of more than 30 local and international bands and over a dozen individual artists.
This year, the major attraction of the events will be Madboy, Gramlines, No Strings Attached, Soulmate and Yesterdrive among many others.
When?
Stepping into its fourth year, the Ziro Music Festival is one of its kind and a memory worth creating. This year, the dates of the festival have been set from the 22nd of September to 26th of September.
How?
Ziro is well connected to Itanagar and Naharlagun, which are well connected to Guwahati and Tezpur. Though the nearest airport is Tezpur, but the flights to Tezpur are often cancelled without any reason. Hence, it is advisable for the visitors to fly till Guwahati and make the rest of the journey through road. the nearest railway station is Naharlagun, there is an overnight train from Guwahati to Nahalagun, which is just a four hour journey from Ziro. Direct buses to Ziro are available from Guwahati, Lakhimpur and Itanagar.
Important: All visitors, both Indian and foreigners are required to permits to enter the state. Indians are required to carry an inner line permit (ILP) while the foreigners would need a Protected Area Permit. Please consult the ministry of home affairs/external affairs well before the time for the same.
There will be a special Ziro Express running from Guwahati to Naharlagun on the 21st of September, which will back from the same place on the 26th. It includes
- 3AC train ticket from Guwahati to Naharlagun and vice versa
- Sumo ride from Naharlagun to Ziro.
- Inner Line Permit for Indian nationals.

What to expect?
Four days of extreme madness! It would not be an exaggeration to say that the music festival will mesmerize you to the extreme. Do not forget to gorge on the exotic local cuisine.
